Have you heard of the new Breyers Smooth & Dreamy icec ream bars and sandwiches? They have six varieties to choose from and they have less fat and calories than regular ice cream bars and sandwiches. Plus they are made with no artificial flavors or colors. My family and I taste-tested the Vanilla Fudge Brownie Smooth & Dreamy icecream sandwiches pictured below, which has 160 calories and 4 grams of fat. They didn’t taste light to me! I thought the “brownie” sandwich tasted more like a soft chocolate cookie than a brownie, but it was still delicious none-the-less. Check out www.smoothanddreamy.com for more information about Breyers Smooth & Dreamy ice cream bars and sandwiches as well as a chance to win an instant prize and register for the grand prize of $10,000! Here's my 3-yr old enjoying his Smooth & Dreamy ice cream sandwich! He took the top piece off first.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Breyers and received products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.

My favorite ice cream recipe is super simple : ) Get an Oreo cookie crumb pie crust, mix softened ice cream (any flavor), about a 1/2 gallon, with softened Cool Whip topping. Place in pie crust and drizzle chocolate syrup, nuts, candy, etc. on top and refreeze until ready to serve. My kids request different kinds for their birthday instead of cake. We have been making them for about the last 10 years.

My favorite ice cream dish is Oreo Cookie Surprise. Crush chocolate oreos and mix with melted margarine. Press in the bottom of a pan and then add a layer of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with chocolate syrup, add more crushed oreos and repeat as many times as you’d like, ending with crushed oreos and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Keep in the freezer until ready to use. Oh yum, now I want some!

I like to make ice cream cakes using ice cream sandwiches. Just get a box of any flavor ice cream sandwiches (Great Value brand has peanut butter ones that are awesome with this). Unwrap the sandwiches and line a loaf pan with a layer of them (cutting if necessary, depending on pan size). Top with hot fudge topping warmed enough to soften, then with cool whip. Repeat layers 2-3 times. Then freeze. When ready to serve, you can either serve in the loaf pan or remove and “ice” the cake with cool whip. If you want to ice it and it will be sitting out for a while, you may want to pop it back in the freezer for 20 minutes so the cool whip won’t melt so quickly.
Then, you can personalize your cake with different toppings (hot fudge drizzle, nuts, crushed up Oreos, crushed peanut butter cups, etc….)
