CLEVELAND, TN: The Museum Guild’s seventh annual fundraising luncheon will take place on Tuesday, May 11 at the Museum Center at 5ive Points. This year’s featured speaker will be the famed cooking personality Sister Schubert. Sister Schubert’s story of how she went from baking rolls in her kitchen to heading a multi-million-dollar business provides an inspiring success story to everyone. Today grocery stores all over the country sell Sister Schubert’s rolls in their frozen food section.

The luncheon, which costs $35 per person, will begin at 11:30 a.m. For reserved tables with front row seating, you can reserve a table of eight for just $320. Because seating for this popular event is limited, you must reserve and pay for your tickets by May 6th. To make reservations and prepayments, call the Museum Center at 423.339.5745 or drop by during business hours to pay.

Each year, the Volunteer Guild Luncheon raises funds for the Museum’s education program and exhibits. This year’s Luncheon is sponsored by Bradley Concrete and The Family Medicine Practice of Dr. Paul Grayson Smith and Dr. Paul Grayson Smith, III with additional assistance from Richard and Joni Maples of Knoxville.

Hospitality time precedes the luncheon, which will be catered by Alshabibi Catering of Cleveland. After lunch, Sister Schubert will give an inspirational talk about her career and life. A live auction of unique items will follow her talk. Auction items include a luncheon for ten in a Victorian home in Cleveland’s historic district, a package that includes many fine dining gift certificates from such restaurants as Café Roma and the Bald Headed Bistro, and a package that includes many gift certificates from high-end stores such as Southern Traditions and Orange Blossom, an original framed watercolor by Sue Summers, and an antique amethyst necklace. Auctioneer will be Cleveland’s own David Carroll.

The luncheon’s organizing committee consists of Chairwoman Bené Deacon and committee members Jeanne Sawyer, Jo Benjamin, Jackie Callaway, Judy Pickle, Linda Callaway, David Carroll, Ken Cagle, and Kathleen Robinson.

Due to the anticipated popularity of having Sister Schubert at the Museum Center, the Museum has turned the luncheon into a two-day event by offering a series of exciting programs to complement the luncheon.

On Monday, May 10 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sister Schubert will be at the Museum Center for a free book signing of her newest cookbook, Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters.  Copies of the book will be available for sale at the Museum Store and part of the proceeds from the book sale will go to the Museum Center.

Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. a Preview Party will be held for those who want to meet Sister Schubert in a more intimate setting. At this southern-themed reception attendees can eat barbeque provided by Sticky Fingers, meet Sister Schubert, and learn more about her. The cost to attend this event is $20 per person, and reservations and pre-payment is required by May 6th.
