My Publix Trip March 19 – Saved $93.92

Posted on 21 March 2010 by admin   Print Print

I went to Publix Friday, March 19 and got everything pictured below for $67.80 out of pocket and saved $93.92 or about 58%.  A lot of things I bought were not on sale so that brought my savings down, but it’s still nice to save over 50% off my total bill and still be able to get some things at regular price when I need to.  It’s really late and I don’t have time to type out the details on each item I bought like I normally do, but I’ll give you a few highlights below and you can visit SouthernSavers for all the coupon match-ups for items on sale.  Remember, the Publix weekly ad runs Wednesday through Tuesday.

  • V8 Fusion 100% juice 64 oz BOGO $3.99 ($1.99/ea) less $1 printable coupons here and here (you can print two per computer and we have two computers in our house) = $.99/ea.  I love 100% juice and V8 is great because it mixes fruit and veggie juice and my kids love it.  I stock up when juice is on sale as we go through a lot at our house.
  • Lance cookies, crackers, and wafers 6-14 oz BOGO $2.89 ($1.44/ea) less $1 printable coupons here and here = $.44/ea!  I stocked up because these don’t expire for quite a few months and make great, quick snacks to keep in the car and at home.  There’s 6 crackers in a pack and 8 packs in a box.
  • Yoplait Greek yogurt $1.19 less printable Publix store coupon for a free Yoplait Greek yogurt = FREE (expires 4-4-10.)  You can also use this at Bi-Lo’s that accept competitor coupons
  • Taco Bell Home Originals Dinner BOGO $2.69 ($1.34/ea) less $1 off produce when you buy 2 Taco Bell products printable coupon = $.85/ea (I bought cantaloupe, onions, and potatoes for my produce)
  • Huggies Pull-Ups $8.99 less $3 store coupon from the One Stop One Store Publix booklet (see photo here); less $2.00 printable coupon from Coupons.com (I think print limit has been reached b/c I don’t see it anymore); less $1.50 competitor coupon from Food Lion (exp. 3-30-10) = $2.49!!  Note, not all Publix stores will accept a manufacturer coupon stacked with both a competitor coupon and a store coupon.  The Ooltewah Publix does, but other stores may only allow two of the three coupons to be used at one time.
  • Kellogg’s Froot Loops BOGO at $3.99 ($1.99 ea) less $.70/1 I found from a blinkie (forgot when/where); less $1/2 Kellogg’s cereal competitor coupon from Food Lion (exp. 3-23.10) = $1.15/ea.  They also have Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, Rice Krispies, and Smacks BOGO at $3.99.  They were out of Rice Krispies, so I got a rain check on those.  I generally do not buy cereal unless it’s free after coupons and generally do not buy the sugary kinds like Froot Loops, but this is my husband’s favorite cereal, so this is a treat for him.  :-)

Gloria, where did you find the Fruit Chillers? I swear, I can never find those darn things when I go and they are on sale. I know they are not in the fruit isle or where the yogurt is. Asked someone but they sent me back to aisle 3 which is fruit isle.

  2. Donna Says:

Oh, and there’s $3 off Huggies coupons if they haven’t reached their limit.

Hi, Donna. Yes, the Fruit Chillers are hard to find. At the Ooltewah Publix, they are on the juice aisle! :) I had a rain check for them. They were BOGO the week before, but they were out. There’s a $1 printable coupon on either Coupons.com or RedPlum. The links are at funandfrugal.com/coupons.

Ah…who would of though the juice aisle!! Darn, yeah I missed out on that one, didn’t get a rain check. Maybe next time. I’ll remember that, thanks Gloria!
