Thank you, Gail, Donna, and Kathy for telling me about the Dr. Seuss birthday party happening this Saturday at Cleveland State Community College’s library from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. I was told its usually crowded so if you’re planning to bring a stroller, you may want to bring an umbrella stroller or one that is small.

Children of all ages will enjoy fun and excitement galore at the seventh annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss celebration set for Saturday, March 6, at Cleveland State Community College. The event will take place from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in Cleveland State’s Library and is sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program and the Library. The celebration is organized by students in the language and literacy development class.
Special guests will include four of Dr. Seuss’s most well-known characters, the Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two and the Grinch.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss is free to children of all ages; however, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Each child will receive a goody bag and may participate in literacy-related activities assisted by students in Cleveland State’s language and literacy development class. The 50th child will receive a special gift commemorating the 50th year of Dr. Seuss’s book, Happy Birthday to You.
Literacy-related activities will be set up both inside and outside the library, and the young participants will be entertained with readings of Dr. Seuss’s stories, including some readings in Spanish.
Other activities will include face painting, hat making and music and movement. Refreshments and door prizes will also be a part of the celebration.
