New Soft Scrub Total: Product Review, Giveaway, and Coupons!

Posted on 17 February 2010 by admin   Print Print

Have you seen any of the TV ads lately for the brand new Soft Scrub Total?  (You can see a 30-second commercial here.)  I was recently invited to be a Soft Scrub Club Captain and given a free bottle of the new Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Cleaner to do a product review.  I also received a coupon for a free Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Cleaner or Total Kitchen Cleaner, which I’m going to giveaway to one Fun and Frugal reader!

I have used Soft Scrub for years and was excited to try this new product.  If you’re used to the thickness of original Soft Scrub Cleanser, this one will be a lot different  since it is more “watery.”  However, it certainly gets the job done.  I really liked the versatility that you can choose to make it spray a mist or foam and that it can even spray upside down for cleaning the toilet!  I’m still trying to figure out how that is even possible.  What I didn’t like is that it doesn’t have a nice scent.  It’s not gross or anything, but I really like the lavender or lemon-scented traditional Soft Scrub products I have.  Maybe they’ll come out with different scents later on.  I don’t know.

Click here for the following coupons: $1.50 off Soft Scrub Total; $1 off Soft Scrub Cleanser; $1.50 off Soft Scrub Gel.  You can also join the Soft Scrub club to receive special offers.

If you’d like a chance at winning a coupon for a FREE bottle of Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Cleaner or Soft Scrub Total Kitchen Cleaner, all you need to do is leave a comment telling me a cleaning tip.  For example, did you know using newspapers instead of paper towels work great (and are a great way to reuse some newspaper pages) on cleaning windows?  If you can’t think of a tip, just tell me what one of your favorite cleaning products is.  One entry per person.  Contest ends 8:00 PM EST Monday, Feb. 22.  Winner will have 48 hours to respond to my email notifying them they won or an alternate winner will be selected.

Well, I don’t really think it would be fair to be in the running for the freebie, since I just won recently, but I wanted to let you know about a deal I got. Target right now has the 2 packs of soft scrub for 4.49. (the ones that are usually 3.39 by themselves) I printed a b1g1 coupon from one of the websites recently, and used that and got 4 bottles for only 4.49!

I always use newspapers to clean my mirrors, too!
My tip would be to use windex to get spills out of carpets! This works better than any carpet cleaner I have ever used!

You can use white vinegar in your dishwasher instead of jet dry (or whatever kind of rinse agent you use). I always put 1/2-1 cup of white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher before I start it up and not only do my dishes come out sparkling, but it keeps the dishwasher smelling good too!

  4. Linda Duty Says:

I use 1 part amonia to 3 parts water in a spray bottle instead of windex to clean windows

I use vinegar for a lot of cleaning also. It is great, cheap and EVERY easy on Mother Earth.

  6. Sherry Miller Says:

If you put a good cheap dishwashing soap (like 99 cent Dawn @ Walmart or any other good at grease soap) in your bath water it helps keep ring around the tub at bay longer. The grease fighting agents in the soap keep the grime that surfaces the water from sticking to your tub which causes the ring around your tub. However, it doesn’t prevent it if you don’t clean your tub every so often. Depending on how many people use the tub. Maybe once a month for one person and more often for more.

For stinky kitchen sinks, I put 1/2 cup of white vinegar down the drain and it freshens and removes odors from garbage disposals.

I was going to say newspaper on windows, but the only otherthing I can think of os cold water, ice, and towels can get out almost any stain. My father’s parents owned a dry cleaning business.

To deodorize a garabage disposal put sliced up lemons in it and turn it on. you can also add ice to sharpen the blades!

Instead of buying the spray pinesol to clean with. I buy the bottle just the pour bottle. I take an empty spray bottle and do about half water and half pinesol and that is my spray to clean counter tops, small spills off of floors, etc. Saves time and money.

I have purchased all kinds of grout cleaners on my ceramic tile kitchen floors, but what I have found to work best is un-diluted Hydrogen Peroxide! Just spray it on and scrub it off(time consuming, but a toothbrush works best!)

  13. Bonnie P Says:

1 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid (dawn) in a spray bottle; makes a great counter cleaner. Shake bottle to mix ingredients

  14. Bethany Says:

I LOVE MR.CLEAN MAGIC ERASERS!!! Those things will clean anything! Oh, baby wipes are also really awesome for scrubbing fresh carpet stains in a pinch!

  15. Sherry Fowler Says:

If you have a smell in the refrigerator that you can’t get rid of, take a newspaper and wet it and put it in the bottom of your refrigerator; it absorbs the smell quickly!

  16. Heather Says:

Instead of buying pricey flat top oven cleaners, I just use soft scrub and the rougher side of a sponge to clean my stove. Also, to make a sponge last longer and keep it it clean, toss it in the dishwasher next time you run it! It disinfects and steams it!

  17. christy Says:

carefully swirl ice cubes around in an empty stained coffee pot to help get the stains out!

  18. Shannon Says:

For a minor drain clog I pour baking soda down the drain. Then hold vinegar up as high as you can for it to hit with force. The vinegar causes the soda to foam. After a few minutes run the hottest water you can or boiled water from stover or microwave to remove the clog.
Also eggshells to sharpen garbage disposal.

I use or any denture cleaner tablets to clean jewelry.

    Thanks!
