Most of us have seen the devastating effects of the recent earthquake in Haiti. Thousands of people are displaced, injured or dead, with the number expected to reach in excess of 3 million.
Our friends at Operation Compassion and North Cleveland Church of God Children’s Ministries are asking the children of our communities to get involved in disaster relief. Operation KidPassion is asking families to put together one-gallon ziploc bags filled with some very basic needs. These bags should be labeled with gender, age range, and size range so that when they arrive at the distribution area they can be sorted easily. Each bag may also contain a note or card of encouragement.
Here is a list of items that can be put in the bags:
Sweat pants, shorts, T-shirt, socks, underwear, sandals
Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrush, Toothpaste
Comb, brush, Lotion, Chapstick, hand sanitizer
Blanket, sewing kit, first aid kit, candy, snacks
Bags or cash donations may be dropped off at North Cleveland Church of God, 335 11th St. NE, Cleveland, TN 37311
If you would like to donate items to be placed in bags, please contact the church office: phone 423.476.5513 or email Children’s Minister Chris Quinn at cquin {at} nccog {dot} org.
