Looking for fun places to take your kiddos all dressed up in their Halloween costumes?  Here are some local Halloween and Halloween-Alternative events.  If you know of one I missed, please leave a comment or send me an email!

Sun-Tues Oct. 25-27

  • Freedom Fellowship Church @ 3555 Blue Springs Rd in Cleveland will be hosting a House of Eternity. It’s October 25,26 & 27 from 7-10. pm.  This is a free event. It’s a walk-through drama that takes approx. 30 minutes. Great for youth groups or others. *Some life situation scenes may be too graphic for children under 13.   • Tues. Oct. 27  is Family Night at the Cleveland Chick-Fil-A from 5-8 pm.  This Tuesday night, kids can enjoy decorating mini pumpkins as a fall craft.  (This isn’t a Halloween event, but wanted to mention it.)

Wednesday, Oct. 28

  • Trunk or Treat at Jones Memorial Church, 4131 Ringgold Road, Chattanooga, TN, October 28th from 6:30-8:00pm (Thanks, Jennifer)
  • Trunk or Treat at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church in Cleveland on Georgetown Rd from 6:30-8:00.  They will be serving free hot dogs and will be selling Caramel/Candy Apples, Cupcakes, Brownies, etc to benefit their middle school youth program.  There will be some inflatable toys, puppets, and more!  (Thanks, Kim and Michelle)
  • Peerless Road Church in Cleveland is hosting a “Wild World of Sports” Trunk or Treat from 6-8. There will be free popcorn, cotton candy, etc, with a small charge for hot dogs and drinks. There will be inflatables for the kids and drawings for a boys bike, a girls bike, and an i-pod! (Thanks, Heather)
  • Trunk or Treat at Mt Olive Church of God in Cleveland (thanks, Brooklyn)
  • Trunk or Treat party at Wesley United Methodist Church in Cleveland from 6:00-8:30 (Thanks, Alisa)

Friday, Oct. 30

  • Tennessee Christian Preparatory School Fall Festival 5-9 pm at the school on N. Lee Hwy in Cleveland. The theme this year is “Under the TCPS Big Top” and the main attraction will be tethered Hot Air Balloon rides. They will also have carnival games, live and silent auction, inflatables, pony and carriage rides, food, and much more. Admission is free and tickets will be accepted for all games and food. Tickets are available for advance purchase by calling the school at 559-8939. There is also a raffle for the opportunity to win a hot air balloon adventure trip. On Saturday the 24th the winner will receive a two-hour adventure ride for 4 people. Raffle tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. Raffle tickets can be purchased from the school or at the festival. Tickets for the tethered hot air balloon rides should be purchased in advance due to limited availability.
  • Boo in the Zoo is Oct. 23, 24, 30, & 31 at the Chattanooga Zoo. Costume contests, candy, crafts, games. Tickets are $6 adults, $4 seniors, $3 children (Zoo members receive 1/2 off admission).
  • Visit The River Maze in Benton, TN! Saturday hours are 11 am- 9 pm. Tickets are $7 for kids 4-12 and $9 for adults. This price includes all mazes, hayride, farm animals, barnyard croquet, one free cow train ride and one free shot on the corn cannon. Extra cost for Pumpkins and Face Painting.   • Trunk or Treat at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tennessee, October 30th from 5:30-7:30pm (Thanks, Jennifer)
  • BECU (Bowater Employees Credit Union) Calhoun Branch is having kidZONE Halloween Party.  All members age 12 and under are invited to drag their corpses to the Calhoun graveyard from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm to enjoy popcorn, punch, cotton candy, treats, and a tour of the credit union’s graveyard. Get a token for coming in costume, and double tokens for any deposits made that day!  (Thanks, Kim)

Saturday, Oct. 31

  • Ami & Alison Photography‘s  PARTY AT THE BARN from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Black Fox Farms.  Face painting, pumpkin decorating, pictures, snacks and more. Your children or family will be able to take pictures at two different stations during the event.   • Trunk or Treat -Abba’s House “Central Baptist Church” in Hixson, TN from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be carnival games, cotton candy, popcorn, inflatables for everyone and a special preschool area–just for the little ones! Plus teen sumo wrestling and boxing. The Awaken Dance Team will be performing and J103 will be broadcasting live. Register to win a new iPod!   • First Baptist Church Cleveland Annual Fall Festival at the Family Life Center soccer field off Stuart Rd from 5-8 pm.  Free hot dogs, popcorn, candy, goody bags, carnival games, inflatable toys, and more!  Friendly costumes welcome.  Admission is free – but if you can bring a canned good, they will be collecting those to donate to The Manna Ministry.  Important: Park at Hobby Lobby on Stuart Rd and ride the free shuttle bus.
  • Restoration Bible Church Harvest Festival from 5-8pm. Free admission, face painting, games, food, and a costume contest. Have your picture taken with the Blue M&M.   • New City Fellowship (on East 3rd St.) is hosting a Trunk or Treat AND Fall Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 31st from 5-8pm.  Games, prizes, cookie decorating, concessions, and free candy!!!  Carnival will be held INDOORS so your little ones can have a break from the chilly weather and still have fun after it gets dark.  (Thanks, McKenzie)

  • Trick-or-Treat at Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland from 6-8 pm sponsored by Westwood Baptist Church.  Lots of games and candy.
  • Trick-or-Treat at Hamilton Place Mall 5-6 pm.  Visit hamiltonplace.com.
  • Trick-or-Treat at North Gate Mall, 6 pm.  I couldn’t find any more details on their website at www.visitnorthgatemall.com.
  • Trunk or Treat at St. Mark United Methodist, 701 Mississippi Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, October 31st from 5:00-7:00 pm (Thanks, Jennifer)
  • The Museum Center at 5ive Points in downtown Cleveland is hosting Tall Betsy Storytelling Night and Pumpkin Carving Contest.  Storytelling is free and is from 5-9 pm.  Local legend, “Tall Betsy” will be on hand to sign copies of her storey “Tall Betsy & The Feast of The Deceased,” a mini kid-friendly Halloween tale about a little boy & his dog.  The book is $3 and all proceeds fromt he book go the Museum.  If you’d like to enter the Pumpkin Carving Contest, please click here for more info.  Deadline to enter is 5:00 PM Fri Oct. 30.

Tall Betsy

  • 22nd Annual Block Party in downtown Cleveland from 5-10 pm.  (If you’ve never been, it is very crowded and you will see all kinds of costumes, many which might be frightening for young children.)  Click here for more info.
