Weekend Events

Fall is around the corner, which means, weekends will be full of fall festivals and craft fairs.  There should be plenty to do on the weekends for the next good bit.  Here’s what’s coming up this weekend, Sept. 19-20:

Friday, Sept. 18

  • The Heather & Hannah Children’s Consignment Sale is Wed-Fri. 9 am – 7 pm at 2135 Waterlevel Hwy in Ridge Plaza in Cleveland.  Click here for more info.
  • Night Fall is a free concert series at Miller Plaza in downtown Chattanooga every Friday night from May 22 – Sept 25 beginning at 7 pm.  Click here for more info.
  • The 6th annual Foothills Country Fair is at the Tri-State Exhibition Center in Cleveland off I-75 at Exit 20, open Wed-Fri 4-10 pm.  $10 includes unlimited carnival rides.  Kids under 3 are free.  Visit www.foothillscountryfair.webs.com for list of events and more info.
  • Bradley Central High School’s FFA is having a FREE-to-anyone Farm Day event at Foothills Country Fair Friday Sept. 18 from 10am to 2pm at Tristate in Cleveland, Tennessee.  This is a great day for children to learn about Agriculture and farm animals from local high school students.  (Thanks, Lu Ann!)
  • Papa Johns Pizza is offering 50% off all regular-priced menu items (no limit) this Friday only, Sept. 18 at the Cleveland and Athens, TN locations.  (Thanks, Amanda!)

Saturday, Sept. 19

  • The Heather & Hannah Children’s Consignment Sale is Sat. 9 am – 3 pm with 30% off most items Saturday at 2135 Waterlevel Hwy in Ridge Plaza in Cleveland.  Click here for more info.
  • Swap Til U Drop at the Old Woolen Mill in downtown Cleveland 10 am – 8 pm.  Click here for more details.  To be Rescheduled.
  • Free Antique Car Show at Bradley Square Mall 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Click here for more info.
  • The 6th annual Foothills Country Fair is at the Tri-State Exhibition Center in Cleveland off I-75 at Exit 20, open Sat noon – 1o pm.  (Last day.)  $10 includes unlimited carnival rides.  Kids under 3 are free.  Visit foothillscountryfair.org for list of events and more info.
  • WCLE Mix 104’s Annual Family Expo at the Museum Center at 5ive Points in downtown Cleveland from 10 am – 2 pm.    Click here for details.  You could win a Disney World Vacation!
  • The River Maze Opens!  Saturday hours are 11 am- 9 pm.  Tickets are $7 for kids 4-12 and $9 for adults.  This price includes all mazes, hayride, farm animals, barnyard croquet, one free cow train ride and one free shot on the corn cannon.  Extra cost for Pumpkins and Face Painting.  We went last year and had a blast!  The River Maze is a Fun and Frugal sponsor and has an exclusive coupon just for Fun and Frugal readers!  Click here to save $1 off your ticket, for up to 6 people!  (You can also find the coupon at Funandfrugal.com/Coupons.)
  • ScrapBlue – Crop for a Cure 10 am – 11 pm at Stuart Heights Baptist Church, 1505 Cloverdale Loop, Hixon, TN.  All proceeds benefit the Prostate Cancer Walk (which is Oct. 3.)  4′ table space per cropper for $45 (tax-deductible donation.)  Lots of food and door prizes!  Go here for more info or call 423.344.0239.  (Thanks, Rosemary.)
  • Teddy Bear Pic-nic at the Cleveland Public Library 9 am – 12 pm.  Must pre-register by calling 423.472.2163.  Kids, bring their teddy bear and enjoy stories, a special visitor, and lunch.  Pre-registration required.

Sunday, Sept. 20

  • The Chattanooga Market is open every Sunday from 11-4 with free admission through 12/7/09. They have local produce, crafters, vendors, musical entertainment, and a different theme each week. Visit chattanoogamarket.com for more info. This Sunday, Sept. 20 enjoy entertainment from the country rock group, Somebody’s Darling. Click here for more info.
