I mentioned Friday that the rumor mill said K-Mart would be doubling again this week, but no word yet if the Cleveland area K-Marts would be participating.  Well, they are!  I shopped at the Cleveland K-Mart today and got several freebies with my double coupons.  Time 2 Save reports that other K-Marts in the area are participating including Athens, Fort Oglethorpe, Hwy 153, Hwy 58, and Cleveland.  You can call your local K-Mart if yours isn’t on the list to find out if they are participating in double coupons this week, Sunday, Sept. 27 through Saturday, Oct. 3.  Same rules as last time:

  • they will double coupons up to and including $2 (so a $2 coupon will double to $4, but a $3 coupon stays at $3)
  • the double will not exceed the price of the item (if you have a $1 coupon and the item costs $1.50, you will not get $2 off, but instead will get $1.50 off making the item free.)
  • limit 10 coupons per customer per day
  • limit 4 coupons for the same item
  • internet printable coupons accepted (find lots here and here)

So, here’s what I got with my 10 coupons today, all for free!  I just had to pay sales tax on everything pictured below.

Kmart 09.27.09 final

  • Kellogg’s Special K cereal is on sale $2.50/ea.  PLUS they have a special offer if you buy 5 Special K products, you instantly get $5 off when you check out, so that makes them $1.50 each in the end.  PLUS I used this coupon (you can print 2 per computer) for $1 off Kellogg’s Blueberry Special K, which technically doubled to $2 instead of $1.50 since the $5 instant savings came off at the end.  I then bought 3 different varieties of Special K so that I wouldn’t be buying more than 4 of the same item and used three $1 coupons off any Special K cereal I got from some specially-marked Kellogg’s cereals in July at Bi-Lo with coupons inside.  I also saw some $1/2 Special K coupons in a Blinkie last week at Food Lion, which would make the boxes $.50 each in the end, which isn’t a bad deal if you don’t have any $1/1 coupons.  So, technically I got $1.50 overage from the cereal after the $1 coupons doubled to $2 and the $5 instant savings at the end, which I used towards a couple other items I bought without coupons that we needed.
  • More free cereal!  Kashi cereal is on sale for $3.00.  I used a printable coupon for $1.50/1, making it free after the double.  Click here to print from Firefox and here for Internet Explorer.  (Print two by hitting back/refresh.)  Thanks, for the coupon links, Money Saving Mom!  I promise you, if you stay on top of coupons and wait for sales to come along, you will never pay for cereal again!  At around $4 a box, cereal is so expensive.  I’ve been buying cereal for free (on sale with coupons) for my family for over a year now.  And you don’t even have to settle for high-sugar kinds.  As you can see, healthy kinds such as Kashi and Special K even go on sale and have coupon match-ups, too!
  • Kotex Lightdays 18 count is $1.29.  I used two $1/1 coupons from a recent insert, making them free after the double.
  • Skintimate trial-sized shave gel is $1.89.  I used a $1/1 coupon from a recent insert, making it free after the double.  I read the fine print on the coupon and it did not specify a size or any limitations.
