Fun and Frugal

Here’s some upcoming events in the Cleveland/Chattanooga area:

• Are you a new student at Lee University in Cleveland this fall?  If so, stop by the FunandFrugal.com booth at the Lee University New Student Orientation Community Showcase Friday, Aug. 14 from 12:00-4:30 pm in the Alumni Park and ask for a free Fun & Frugal t-shirt (for the first 10 people to ask for a shirt.)  You can also register for great door prizes at the Fun & Frugal booth including Dollywood tickets, TN Aquarium tickets, gift certificates to several local restaurants, and more!

• The Season’s Harvest Market Farmer’s Market I mentioned recently that was scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15 has been postponed until some time in October.  I’ll keep you informed of the exact date when I hear.
• Meet-and-Greet at Jillian Hayes Fitness on Sat. Aug. 15 from 11-2.  Stop by for complimentary refreshments, meet Jillian Hayes, and register to win one of two ipod shuffles!  And if you registered for their $100 gift card giveaway, read here!
• The Chattanooga Market is open every Sunday from 11-4 with free admission through 12/7/09.  They have local produce, crafters, vendors, musical entertainment, and a different theme each week.  Visit chattanoogamarket.com for more info.  This Sunday, Aug. 16 the theme is Five Star Food Fight!  Click here for more info.
• Also happening at The Chattanooga Market this Sunday, Aug. 16 is Amanda Varnell will be hosting her monthly Chattanooga Market edition of Cooking Live 11:30-12:30.  Tickets are just $15 which gives each participant a generous portion of samples, bottled water and recipe packet to bring home.  This week’s topic is weeknight dinners made easy – she uses fresh foods and ingredients that you can buy right at Chattanooga Market.  www.amandavarnell.com
