If you’re a night-owl and am ambitious shopper, you can begin the Tennessee tax-free shopping weekend at 12:01 am Friday, August 7.  No sales tax charged on certain qualifying purchases of back-to-school items such as clothes, school supplies, and computers.  Please read the rules at the State of Tennessee website before shopping.  Here is a complete list from the State of TN of which items are exempt from sales tax and which items are not exempt.  You may be surprised to know that diapers are exempt, so they are tax-free during the sales tax holiday!  Happy shopping!
