Thanks, F&F reader, Susan, for being the first to give me a head’s up early this week about K-Mart doubling coupons (up to and including $2) starting Sunday, Aug. 16.  The verdict is still out if the Cleveland K-Mart will be participating – you can call them Sunday and find out.  Chattanooga Cheapskate has confirmed the K-Marts in Hixson, Johnson City, and Kingsport, TN are all participating.  Click here and here to read more about some great coupon books for K-Mart.  Click here to read the rules from the last time the Cleveland K-Mart doubled July 5-12.  I would encourage you to call your local K-Mart before heading out to see if they participating in double coupon week and what their rules are.

And remember, there are lots of printable coupons here and here that would be great for K-Mart Doubles Week, including a coupon for a FREE 10-count Woodcase Pencils when you buy school supplies totaling $15 or more.

Just got back from a trip to Kmart for their double coupon week. Unfortunately it was a horrible trip and I will not be back. They were completely out of several things I was going to purchase. Then when I was checking out my cashier informs me that the rules had changed again and I could not buy two deoderants and two body washes and use a coupon for each in one transaction. I had to take the second body wash (with its coupon) and the second deoderant (and its coupon) back. Then she told me that two coupons I had recieved in the mail attached to a rebate check were photocopied and she couldn’t take them. She was not the friendliest of people and during the whole transaction the line behind me kept getting longer and longer and I felt completely embarrassed and belittle by the cashier infront of all the other customers. So no more Kmart for me. : )

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, Sara. I appreciate you taking the time to share about it. I have had both good and bad experiences at K-Mart before, so I know how you feel on a bad trip. It is definitely frustrating when they keep changing the rules.
