Head’s up! Georgia is having their sales tax holiday this weekend, July 30-Aug. 2 and Tennessee’s will be the following weekend, Aug. 7-9. This means there will be no sales tax charged on certain qualifying purchases of back-to-school items such as clothes, school supplies, and computers.
Please read the rules at the Georgia website and Tennessee website before shopping. Here is a complete list from the State of TN of which items are exempt from sales tax and which items are not exempt. Here is the Georgia complete list. You may be surprised to know that diapers are exempt, so they are tax-free during the sales tax holiday! Happy shopping!
