Fun and Frugal

This is gonna be another quick post, not as detailed as I normally do on grocery trip breakdowns.  Here’s the highlights of what I paid for each item after sale and coupons.  You can get all the details at Southern Savers.

• Gorton’s Shrimp Scampi $2.74 (reg. $7.49) after using $1.00 All You coupon and BOGO sale.
• Stonyfield Farm organic yogurt 26¢ ea. after coupons and sale
• New York Texas Toast croutons – FREE after All You coupon and BOGO sale.
• BIC mechanical pencils – FREE after printable coupon and sale
• Taco Bell dinner kits – 34¢ ea. after All You coupon and BOGO sale.
• Band-Aids – FREE with coupons from Sunday paper insert and Publix store coupon
• Apple & Eve organic juice boxes – FREE with manufacturer coupon from Publix and store coupon from Publix.  (Thanks, Cherish for trading coupons with me so I could get these!)

I went to Bi-Lo tonight and got a few free and cheap items, along with some other groceries I needed not on sale.  Here are the highlights of the best deals:

• Angel Soft and Sparkle paper towels – cost $.98 for 8 rolls of t.p. and 2 rolls of paper towels after using 2 of these $2 printable coupons
• bread – I used the Bi-Lo store coupon from my.bi-lo.com to get a free loaf of store brand bread when you buy Earth Grains bread
• Honey Nut Cheerio single cups – FREE after this $1 coupon
• Knorr Rice (also pasta on sale) sides – 10¢ after this 45 ¢ printable doubles (coupon prints in Spanish, but I had no problem using it.)
• Lean Cuisine $2.05/ea after this $1/5 printable
• Michelina’s Entrees 80¢ ea. after this $1/5 printable
• Fresh Express Shreds and Spinach – FREE – on sale for $1, less FLIP for $1 off Fresh Express salad.  I can’t find this FLIP on Southern Savers. (The Cleveland and Ooltewah Bi-Lo’s accept FLIPS/competitor coupons.)
• Hellmann’s mayo – cost $1.20 – BOGO at $4.79  less $.60 coupon doubled
• Check out this awesome recipe for Pineapple-Pine Nut Turkey salad from Publix.  I sampled some Saturday and got the recipe card and bought the ingredients the next day at Bi-Lo (everything on the bottom step in the picture above – less the pineapples, since I already had a can at home.)  It’s really yummy!
