I was hesitant about going, but still had a great trip to K-Mart despite the stricter rules. I have to admit, I don’t visit Wal-Mart much anymore since I get great coupon deals at Publix, Bi-Lo, and CVS.

I will not fool with the Kmart double coupon this time. To much trouble. When the fun is not there . I will just take my coupons to Walmart. Their prices are almost always lower anyway. And use my coupons at Walmart or Bi-lo. I did the double coupons for the excitement. That would not be there at Kmart now. I will save the time and trouble. Just shop walmart.

Be aware that cashiers are instructed to read all coupons and if it states anywhere on the coupon that it is not subject to doubling they will NOT double it.

I find it rather comical that a company would make it so difficult to do business with them. We come from Ohio and this sort of promotion was common at grocery stores there and we never saw restrictions like this! We got double coupons up to 99 cents as an everyday deal at all grocery stores. A promotion was doubling up to $1 or $2 perhaps monthly or bi-monthly. We even saw triples a couple of times. Never with restrictions like this.

When we moved to this area a year ago and saw the lack of doubling (say hello to 55 cents at Bi-Lo) and restrictions like this it pales in comparison. It just proves to me, from experience in Ohio, that this is not truly necessary and makes you not want to patronize a business that is this stingy.

Additionally, working previously in retail management, I can guarantee that Kmart corporate redeems the coupons so they get the benefit from these promotions. The local manager and district managers see their revenues drop, as they most likely only get credit for the actual cash revenue, after coupons. Hence, you end up with rules like this that are designed to discourage coupon use.
