Publix Trip 6-27-09 – I saved 64%

I wasn’t able to get to Publix til Saturday this week, but these sale prices are still good through Tuesday, June 30 if you want to get some of these good deals. I spent $39.25 and saved $69.63, or about 64%! Remember you can use two coupons on a BOGO (buy-one-get-one free) deal; Publix doubles manufacturer coupons up to $.50; you can stack a competitor coupon (mostly Target and Food Lion) coupon with a manufacturer coupon; and you can stack a Publix store coupon with a manufacturer coupon, too. Each store manager sets the rules on which competitor coupons are allowed. And as I’ve mentioned before, don’t forget if you plan to buy huge quantities of a sale item (like a case or two), please call or stop by the customer service desk and they will be happy to place an order and reserve it for you. That will ease frustration from other shoppers who find an empty shelf. But if you do find an empty shelf, please ask for a rain check! Be sure to check out the newest Publix coupon booklets listed at Chattanooga Cheapskate. The pictures are helpful so you’ll know what to look for. Please don’t take huge quantities. Store video cameras are watching. With that said, here’s my Publix Trip from Saturday, June 27:

- Horizon organic half-gallon milk – $3.69, less $1.00 coupon from Publix Greenwise Market magazine (you can get a free quarterly subscription by mail here or pick up a copy at Publix.) = $2.69/ea
- Bertolli skillet dinners and oven baked meals on sale $4.99 (I think normally about $7.99) less $1.25 coupon from Red Plum Sunday paper insert June 7 and $1.50 printable coupon = 3 for $3.74/ea and 1 for $3.49. Bertolli meals are so yummy and quick and easy to prepare. I love when they go on sale! (Thanks, Southern Savers!)
- DiGiorno flatbread melt – $2.79, less coupon for FREE DiGiorno flatbread melt by mail I told you about here on June 16. It looks like you can still request one here. Thanks, Money Saving Mom!
- Sara Lee Bites – on sale 50% off at $1.99/ea, less coupon for $1.00 off Sara Lee Bites from Red Plum Sunday per insert June 7 = $.99/ea
- YoBaby 6-pack organic whole milk yogurt for babies and toddlers – $3.69/ea less coupons for FREE YoBaby yogurt I received in the mail from Stonyfield Farms. I’m giving away a YoBaby prize pack Tuesday, June 30, including 5 coupons for FREE YoBaby! Click here for more info. One entry per person.
- Fresh Express salad – on sale for $2.99/ea (reg. $3.99) less $1.00/2 printable coupon = $2.49/ea. I think this coupon was on coupons.com and has reached it’s cap and been pulled because I can’t find it now.
- Tomatoes – $2.69/lb = $2.10 for my two tomatoes
- Cucumbers – $.65, less FLIP (Food Lion Internet Printable) competitor coupon for $2/$5 produce purchase (exp. 6-30-09) for the salads, tomatoes, and cucumbers. (Note: I shopped at the Publix on East Brainerd this trip and a manger was my cashier and accepted this coupon. The Publix in Ooltewah has politely refused to accept this coupon from me before because they say it is not for a specific product. Each store sets their own rules on what competitor coupons they will accept.)
- Post Trail Mix Crunch cereal – BOGO at $4.19, less $2 printable coupon here (Thanks, Southern Savers!) = $.07! Remember, you can buy one or three or any odd number of a BOGO deal and it will ring up half-price. You do not have to buy in pairs.
- Crystal Light drink mix – BOGO at $3.99 less $2/1 from July All You magazine and $1/1 printable (Thanks, Southern Savers!) = one for FREE and one for $1.00. There’s another printable here for $2/2 if it hasn’t reached the cap.
- Glad snack bags, 50 count – $1.59, less $1/1 Publix store coupon off any Glad food storage item from the Turn Up the Music Fire Up the Grill coupon book (picture here) plus $1/1 FLIP (exp. 7-7-09) = FREE! You could also get a free 100 sq foot (small size) Glad cling wrap since it’s also $1.59. Thanks, Saving Your Cents!
