I meant to get this post up sooner, but it just didn’t happen. However, these sales are still going on though Tuesday, June 23 at Publix, so go get some great deals and remember if the store is out of anything, ask for a rain check! I spent $34.01 on the items below and saved $52.92, which comes out to 61%! My goal is to save at least 50% when I go grocery shopping and I love how Publix (and Bi-Lo) tell you at the bottom of your receipt how much you saved.

- Danimals crush cups (yogurt) 4-pack – BOGO at $2, less $.55 coupon from in-store dispenser = $.45 per 4-pack. (I can’t remember what store I got my two coupons. I’m always on the lookout for blinkies and grab a couple for my coupon box.)
- Del Monte Fruit Chillers – B2G1 (Buy 2, Get 1 Free) at $2.53/ea less this $1 printable coupon from Red Plum = $1.02/ea since I had two coupons. If you have three coupons, it would come out to $.69/ea. (You can only print two Red Plum coupons per computer.) I had to ask where the Fruit Chillers were at Publix because I couldn’t find them. They were near the Kool-aid and tea, past the Juicy Juice on aisle 1 at the Ooltewah Publix. Fruit Chillers are fairly new. You put them in your freezer and eat them like ice pops.
- Pillsbury cinamon rolls, 5 count – I had a rain check from a previous sale for $1/ea (reg. $1.59), less $1/3 Sunday insert coupon = $.67/ea. We enjoyed some of these this morning at breakfast for Father’s Day.
- Kellogg’s Nutrigrain bars – on sale BOGO at $3.29, so $1.64/ea. I didn’t have any coupons and am not aware of any out right now for these, but it’s still a great buy at half-off. Our familiy goes through these a lot, so anytime they’re on sale, I get several boxes.
- Ocean Spray Craisins – on sale BOGO at $2.29, so $1.15/ea. Again, I didn’t have any coupons and am not aware of any, but my boys love these and half-off is a good buy. Remember, you can buy one item on a BOGO deal and it will ring up half-off. You do not have to buy in pairs.
- Kraft Velveeta shells & cheese (and also Kraft Deluxe on sale, too)- on sale $1.49/ea (reg. $1.85) less this $1 printable coupon (Thanks, Southern Savers!) = $.49/ea
- Yoplait Yo-Plus 4-pack yogurts – on sale BOGO at $2.50 (so $1.25/ea), less $1.00 coupons here (I think the cap has reached and it is no longer available), here, and here, which = $.25 per 4-pack! (That’s about 6 cents per yogurt cup! Can’t beat that!) I don’t know how I ended up with 7 coupons other than I think they reset the coupons.com one not too long ago so I was able to print two more and also I have a family member who shares some coupons with me.
I love Yo-Plus yogurt and stock up as much as I can when it’s on sale, which seems to be a regular thing every few weeks at Publix. - Publix Greenwise organic mixed baby greens salad – on sale $2.69. I needed one bag of salad and was surprised the organic version was on sale and cheaper than the regular version.
- 2 plum tomatoes $1.89/lb = $.79 total
- 1 cucumber $.75
- 1 canteloupe on sale $1.47 (reg. $2.50)
- DiGiorno crispy flatbread pizzas on sale 2 for $10 (reg. $6.69) less $1.25 printable coupon and $2.00 off any DiGiorno pizza coupon from Food Lion (exp 6-23-09) = $1.75/ea. Remember, you can stack a manufacturer coupon and a store competitor coupon (such as Food Lion or Target) on the same item at Publix! There’s also a printable coupon here for $1.00 off any DiGiorno crispy flatbread pizza here. (Thanks, SouthernSavers.com!)
- DiGiorno rising crust pizzas on sale 2 for $10 less (reg. $6.69) less $1.00 coupon from recent Sunday paper insert and $2.00 Food Lion coupon above = $2.00/ea.

Great trip! It always helps me get ready for my trip when I see your pictures. The original list on Southern Savers is so daunting to look at sometimes…. Thanks!

I have been collecting coupons for years. I may save a couple of dollars. Everytime my husband sees someone on tv talking about how they save so much money, he always says “why can’t you do that”. I don’t know what else to do.
Any ideas. Please!!!

Hi, Kelly. I understand your frustration. I didn’t know the real power of couponing until I started reading coupon/frugal blogs last year. It’s a lot to learn, but well worth the homework. Basically you get the most out of your coupons by buying BOGO’s (Buy-One-Get-One-Free items) and using a coupon for each item (yes, you can use a coupon on a “free” item because technically they each ring up half-price on a BOGO deal.) Plus when you shop at Publix, you can stack your manufacturer’s coupon with a competitor coupon from Target or Food Lion. Also, Publix will double coupons up to $.50 and Bi-Lo will double up to $.65. The best resource to know what’s on sale where and when is SouthernSavers.com. I also learn a lot of great deals from MoneySavingMom.com. Enjoy your couponing journey! Let me know if you have any other questions and I’ll try to help.

Thanks, Jamie. Yes, it can be overwhelming to see every item on sale at Publix. I pick out the best deals for my family based on what coupon match-ups I have and then I like to share my trips with others so they, too, can get great deals!
