Did you get some good deals this week? This past week was a great one for free stuff! Here’s what all I got for free with coupons:
- Bi-Lo – Gillette shave gel; Vitamin Water (click here to see Bi-Lo’s weekly sale coupon match-ups ending Tues. Apr. 28. Vitamin Water is on sale for $1 at Bi-Lo and Wal-Mart and there was recently a $1-off coupon in a Sunday paper insert.)
- Publix – Muir Glen tomato sauce (click here for link to $1 off any Muir Glen product); Suave shampoo & conditioner (click here for the weekly sale coupon match-ups for Publix ending Tues. Apr. 28.)
- Walgreens – reusable shopping bag (I told you how to get a free Walgreens bag for Earth Day on Apr. 21); Mentos gum (I planned to buy some gum for my required purchase to get the free Wags bag and I discovered they had Mentos gum on sale 2/$2. I just happened to have some $1/1 Mentos gum coupons from a recent Sunday paper insert and got them for free. I asked the manager who rung me up if that would still count as a purchase and he said sure.
- CVS – Crest Pro-Health toothpaste (this was part of the weekly ad that ended today, Sat. Apr. 25. It was free after ECB and I also had a $1 coupon, making it free plus overage. Click here to see the new weekly ad that runs Sun. Apr. 26-Sat. May 2.)
- Home Depot – light bulb (I posted Apr. 16 that you could get a free light bulb on Sun. Apr. 19 from Home Depot.)
- Wal-Mart – Kotex Lightdays (I posted Apr. 2 about a printable coupon for $2/2 any Kotex product, which I believe has reached print limit and is no longer available. There have also been $1/1 any Kotex product coupon in recent Sunday paper inserts. The two Kotex Lightdays packages pictures are only $1 at Wal-Mart, so with the $2/2 or $1/1 coupon, they are free!)
- K-Mart – Renuzit odor neutralizer; Adidas deodorant; N.Y.C. mascara; Bic Soleil razors; Halls cough drops (thanks to double coupon week I told you about April 18, which ended today, Sat. Apr. 25)
Some of you might ask…how in the world do you have time to go to seven different store in one week and why would you want to? Seven is an unusually high number for me in one week; sometimes I only go to one or zero stores in a week, but, the “why” is once you get into couponing, it gets funner and more addicting. Just wait, you’ll find out.
The “time” part…well that’s tricky. Except for Publix, I live/work very close to all the stores, so it’s not out of my way to run into a couple on my lunch break or after work or while I’m out doing errands on a Saturday during the kids’ nap time. And I prepare before I go. I read SouthernSavers.com’s weekly sale ads and make a list of the items I want to get by copying and pasting her entire post into Word and then deleting the items I don’t want, leaving only what I do want.
