CVS Trip Week of March 1

CVS has several items you can get for FREE this week.  Here’s what I got:

  • Glucerna cereal on sale BOGO, half-off – $4.59 and $2.29 less two $5.00 Glucerna cereal printable coupons = FREE!
  • Carnation Instant Breakfast – $4.99, FREE after Extra Care Bucks (ECB) less $.75 coupon from recent Sunday paper insert
  • Slim Quick Energy Shots 2 pk – $4.99, FREE after ECB
  • CVS Vitamin D 100 count – $2.99, FREE after ECB

I paid with $9.98 in ECB’s and owed $.86 tax and earned $12.97 in ECB’s! So I earned more ECB’s than I spent, plus I only paid $.86 out of pocket for $22.15 worth of stuff! You can see all the deal match-ups for the week of March 1-7 here at Southern Savers.  There is also a $.99 travel Act mouthwash I wanted to get that is free after ECB, but two CVS’s I went to were out of it.

If you’re new to CVS-ing, you may think, “I don’t want/need Glucerna cereal or anything else you bought.  Why would I get them even if they’re free?”  My answer is because you can earn more ECB’s to spend on things you do need (like my CVS tip the following week where I got $41 worth of stuff for less than $2 out of pocket!), plus anything you don’t need, you can donate to a food bank or ministry, such as The Caring Place or First Baptist Church’s Manna Ministry.  For more info on getting started with CVS-ing, check out the CVS-ing Guide at Southern Savers.
