Great Publix Trip Feb. 17

I had a great Publix trip last night, Tues. Feb. 17. I spent $19.78 and saved $83.15! That’s about 81% savings! Nearly every item I bought was on sale and I used a coupon on top if it or if it wasn’t on sale, I had a coupon that made it free. Remember, Publix doubles coupons up to $.50 and you can stack store and manufacturer coupons and you can use competitor store coupons (like Food Lion coupons). Also, keep in mind you can use two coupons on a BOGO purchase if you only have one coupon, you can still get one BOGO item (or any quantity of BOGO items) at half-price. I hesitate to post about my trip since those deals ended Tuesday and the new ones started today, but I thought I would show it to you as an example and inspiration to you that a little effort, you, too, can get great deals!
I won’t take the time to break down my trip since like I said, these deals are no longer available, but I encourage you to check out the current week’s deals at Southern Savers. These deals run Wed. Feb. 18 – Tues. Feb. 24. Once again, there are many BOGO items in the weekly sale! I hope to make another trip to Publix before Tuesday the 24th. Jenny at Southern Savers does all the research work for you by posting all the sale items and where to find which coupons to go with them and some of the coupons are printable.
I must brag on the customer service at Publix. The employees are wonderful. I had several ask me if I needed help finding anything and they went out of their way to help me find what I needed. They do offer rain checks, so if they are out of something, don’t forget to ask for a rain check. Speaking of, the store manager at the Ooltewah Publix said he doesn’t mind if a customer buys a certain sale item in large quantities, but he would appreciate if you would let him know (in advance if you can) so that he can order more for other customers during the sale week. When he issues rain checks, he loses money since he’s only able to buy sale items at a reduced rate during the sale period. He said if they may have to start issuing limits otherwise.
If you have a great shopping trip at Publix or anywhere you’d like to share, please email me a picture and break down of your trip to fun [dot] frugal [at] gmail [dot] com and it may get featured on FunandFrugal.com.
