Send Expired Coupons to the Military

Posted on 01 January 2009 by admin   Print Print

I read this post on Money Saving Mom back in June and thought I would mention it now since many of us have tons of coupons that expired Dec. 31 (or prior).  Did you know you can mail your expired coupons to the military and they can use them possibly up to 6 months past the due date?

One of my readers, Leslie, emailed me a while back that she sent some to the address below and later received a nice thank-you note, so it’s encouraging to know that they do receive and appreciate getting our expired coupons.  Here is the address from Money Saving Mom:

FYI: They recommend that you not send coupons that are more than 2 months expired. I think the trip overseas can be timely so they want to make sure the coupons are still usable when they arrive. Also, I recently sent some more expired coupons and I had so many that I had to use a small box to fit them all. It still only cost a little over $3 but I had to fill out a customs form at the post office.
