The first day of business at Sara’s Hallmark began at 10 o’clock a.m. on August 11, 1987.  Co-owners Nancy and Sara McClure had always wanted a family business and a Hallmark shop seemed to be the perfect fit.  After buying Plaza House of Hallmark Cards they renamed it Sara’s Hallmark and set about bringing in more cards and more gifts.  Outgrowing the small space in 1996, the mother and daughter team took advantage of a vacancy next door to the shop and expanded Sara’s Hallmark to twice it’s original size. This expansion also allowed them to double the number of cards, add even more gifts, and a second cash register.

In addition to Hallmark’s everyday and seasonal cards, Sara’s Hallmark offers 99 cent cards, Christian Expressions cards, Dayspring cards (including boxed assortments), Shoebox cards, cards in Spanish, Cards Under a Dollar by Marian Heath, and the popular Sound and Music cards.  Nancy and Sara make every effort to carry cards for many varied occasions and have graduation cards all year long.  Among the many gifts you’ll find a large selection of Yankee Candles, collegiate items (including cards and jewelry), plush animals, Flip Notes and Auto Notes by Wellspring, pouchees, angels by Midwest of Cannon Falls, puzzles, playing cards and bridge items, pashminas, memorial items, stationery, PSA Essentials’ personalized rubber stamps, pet gifts, and much more.  Sara likes to shop so she’s always finding new items for the store!

Sara’s Hallmark recently remodeled again.  The new layout feels much larger and brighter.  The gifts are much easier to shop and more Hallmark cards were added.  During Christmas Nancy is marking many gift items down  because during January Sara will be ordering more items during the Gift Mart!
