As the first event in the Winter Days and Lights series, Christmas on the River and Grande Illumination ignite the holiday spirit on the Friday following Thanksgiving, at Ross’ Landing. The event begins with a lighted boat parade on the Tennessee River. After the parade, Santa Claus dazzles the audience with a dramatic entrance followed by a radiant show of lights along with dancing and singing by the Lindsay Fussel Dancers and Choo Choo Kids. Following the performance, the evening comes to a glittering conclusion with a fireworks finale, signaling the illumination of the city’s skyline for the holiday season.  This event is free and is from 6-9 pm.  Click here for more info.

  1. Miss Jane Says:

We attended the Grand Illumination it is really nice. For any of you that think about going next year, don’t forget you lawn chairs! I wish we wouldn’t have forgotten ours. There was one thing I as disappointed in: When the dancers and Santa came on stage all the adults stood up so it was impossible to see all of the show. But, it was well organized and family friendly.
