Cleveland has several Halloween and Halloween-Alternative/Fall Festival events on and around Halloween.  Here are a few I know about.  If you know of one I missed, please leave a comment with the details (time, date, place, etc) or send me an email.  Thanks!

  • Friday, Oct. 24 Cleveland YMCA Annual Fall Festival from 6:30-8:30 PM.  Free t-shirts to the first 150 kids, free hot dogs, J.C. Penney gift giveaways, 3 inflatables, door prizes, toddler’s activities, duck pond, obstacle course, face painting, instant tattoos, and more.  Open to the community at no charge.
  • Thanks, Crystal for the tip: Oct. 24-25 from 6-9 PM is the annual Fantasy Maze at the Tennessee Riverpark off Amnicola Hwy in Chattanooga.  Children are encouraged to wear costumes and bring treat bags.  Admission is $3 per child ages 2-12 and adults and children under 2 are free.  Inflatable games are $1 each.  Concessions available.  Call 842-6748 or click here for more info.
  • Thanks, Stacie for emailing me: Sat. Oct. 25 from 3-7 pm is a fall festival at United Chrstian Academy at 2200 Peerless Road behind Wendy’s.  (The old Westwood Church building.)  There will be vendor booths, auction, food, games, and more!  If you want a booth for your business, contact Patti Martin (PTO President) at 479-6842 or Ramona Kim (UCA Principal) at 478-2500.
  • Sunday, Oct. 26 from 5-7 PM is the annual Trunk ‘R Treat at Candies Creek Baptist Church.  Friendly costumes welcome.  There will be trunks full of candy for everyone.  To get to Candies Creek Baptist, take Georgetown Rd towards Hopewell Elementary.  At the stop light by the school, turn right onto Eureka Road.  Go a couple miles (don’t remember exactly) and you’ll see Candies Creek Baptist on the right.
  • Thanks, Sheri for informing me about the Trunk-or-Treat happening this Sunday, Oct. 26 at Keith St. Ministries (next to Logan’s) from 5:30-8:00.  Also, free soup will be served in their Family Life Center. Friendly costumes welcome.  If you’ve never been to a trunk-or-treat, you’ll find trunks of cars full of Halloween candy.
  • Thanks, Dwight, for this tip: An Evening of Cleveland Mystery & Folklore will be at the Bank of Cleveland downtown Oct. 27, 28, & 30 from 7-9 PM.  Tickets are $10/adults and $5/kids Kindergarten and up.  Proceeds go to The Caring Place and Cleveland Allied Arts Council.  Tours every 12 minutes.  Local ghost stories will be told without blood and guts, just history and mystery.  Chances to win tickets coming soon on Fun and Frugal!  Tickets can be purchased at Bank of Cleveland, Bender Realty, and the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Thanks, Deanna, for this info:  There is a Trunk or Treat at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church (on corner of Peerless and Norman Chapel Rd.) Wednesday October 29th 6:30-8:30pm. There will be facepainting, inflatable toys, & lots of trunks with treats.  Friendly costumes welcome.
  • Thanks, Jane for this info: Clingan Ridge Baptist Trunk or Treat is Wednesday 29th beginning at 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-9:00 is the annual First Baptist Church Fall Festival held at the Family Life Center off Stuart Road.  Please park at Hobby Lobby and ride the free shuttle.  Free hot dogs, nachos, pop corn, candy bags, carnival games, inflatable games, petting zoo, and pony rides.  Friendly costumes welcome.  Over 3,000 people came last year.  Please bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to be donated to the Manna Ministry.
  • Friday, Oct. 31 is Spooktacular at Bradley Square Mall, sponsored by Westwood Baptist Church and South Cleveland Church of God from 6-9 PM.  Over 2,500 trick-or-treaters are expected.
  • Friday, Oct. 31 is the 21st annual Block Party sponsored by MainStreet Cleveland in downtown Cleveland.  Children’s costume contest begins at 5:30.  Admission is free.  Vendors will be selling a variety of food.  Attendance is huge and is expected to be around 15,000 people.  Be prepared to see all kinds of costumes, including some that may be considered graphic.
  • Friday, Oct. 31 the BECU (Bowater Employee Credit Union) invites KidZONE members ages birth-12 to the annual Halloween KidZone party at the Calhoun branch.  There will be treats, punch, popcorn, and a tour of Dracula’s castle.  Every KidZONE member will receive double tokens for deposits made that day and will receive a token for coming in costume or bringing in a vampire decoration.  I assume it’s all day because the time was not specified in the member newsletter.
  • Thanks for the info, Kendra: Friday, Oct. 31 Waterville Baptist Church is hosting a community fall festival from 6:00-8:30.  Free food, games, candy, door prizes, and more.  Waterville Baptist Church is located on Dalton Pike just before the golf course.  If you’re traveling towards Dalton, the church will be on your right.
  • Thanks, Karly for this email: Westmore Church of God is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat at Pathway Book Store’s parking lot on Oct. 31 from 6-7:30 PM.  There will be trunks full of candy, inflatables, a DJ, games, and giveaways including an iPod.
