Have you heard of Angel Food Ministries? You can purchase $65 worth of groceries for only $30! The program is open to anyone and the menu changes each month. November’s menu includes an optional Thanksgiving dinner box for $30.  Perhaps you could consider buying an extra box to bless someone else this Thanksgiving.  The deadline to place a prepaid order from Grace Assembly God for the November menu is Sunday, Nov. 9.  Online ordering is now available.  Orders are to be picked up Sat. Nov. 22 from 10-11 am.  There are five host sites in Cleveland and order deadlines and pick-up times may vary, so click on the link to find contact info for the location you’re interested in to find out the dates/times.   Some host sites require you to bring our own box and some provide one.  Below is an email I got from Ruthie Crockett, the host site director for Grace Assembly of God.

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that allows anyone to purchase food at much lower prices than you can find in the grocery store. Each month there is a different menu. Orders are pre-paid (via cash, EBT (food stamps), debit or credit cards) to one of 5 area host sites. The host sites turn in the orders to Angel Food Ministries in Monroe, GA. About 2 weeks later, the purchaser then picks up their box (or boxes) of food.

My husband and I started purchasing Angel Food a little over a year ago. It has saved us more than 40% of our grocery bill. It was perfect for us – because although we both work and are blessed to have insurance, we were still left with 20% of our child’s doctor and hospitalization bills. We didn’t qualify for assistance, but with Angel Food, there was no qualification process required. This helped give us a “hand up” (not a hand out). We continue to purchase the food today, as it gives us more freedom to purchase other items we normally would not be able to.

you have to order online in order to pay for it with a debit card…otherwise you have to sign up with the location you choose. Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy also does it as well.

Actually, you can order with a debit or credit card over the phone, or in person at Grace Assembly of God. I would imagine you can do this at the other host sites as well. You are correct, Peerless Road COGOP is one of the 5 host sites. There is a 1.00 convenience fee for online ordering. This fee goes directly to Angel Food Ministries, not the local host sites, which they use to pay for having the service.

    Hi, Gloria,

I just read an article in the newspaper that this organization is being investigated by the FBI. Here’s a link to some info.

P.S. Our studio will have a booth at the Just Between Friends Consignment Event too; we’ll see you there.

Hi, Brenda. I had heard about that, but when I asked one of the local Angel Food directors about it, she said there was a lawsuit filed against two individuals at Angel Food – but not against the ministry itself and that the lawsuit was dropped as of March 6th.
