July 4th: Free Arby’s and Home Depot Kids Workshop

Posted on 03 July 2009   Print Print

I got an email from Arby’s this week and I saw on the sign outside the Cleveland Arby’s that you can get a free All American RoastBurger with the purchase of a soft drink (excludes value menu drinks) on July 4th.  The email said it was available at participating Arby’s in the greater Cincinnati and Chattanooga areas.

Also, the Home Depot will be having their free monthly kids workshop Sat. July 4th from 9-noon.  This time, they will be making a pic-nic caddy.  Freebies4Mom has the details here.

Have a safe and happy July 4th weekend!

Cow Appreciation Day July 10 - Free Chick-fil-A for Participants!

Posted on 02 July 2009   Print Print

<br />

Get ready!  Cow Appreciation Day is coming next Friday, July 10 to Chick-fil-A!   Come dressed like a cow (adults and kids!) and receive a free combo meal! If you’d rather not do the whole outfit, you can wear a cow accessory, such as a hat or scarf, and receive a free entree, such as a sandwich or nuggets or breakfast biscuit.  Your costume can be very simple.  The Cleveland Chick-fil-A is having a costume prep night for kids during their Tuesday Night Family Night, July 7 from 5-8 pm, where you can help your child make a cow costume in the store.  Click here for pictures and info from Jamie’s trip last year over at Chattanooga Cheapskate.

Cow Appreciation Day will be a huge event at the Cleveland Chick-fil-A.  WCLE Mix 104.1 will be doing a live remote from 11-2 and there will be  giveaways, cow appearances, photos, sampling, and more!

Oh, and there will not be a free-chicken-biscuit-pajama-day at the Cleveland Chick-fil-A in July.  It’s usually the first Sat of the month, but they will not be open for breakfast July 4th due to the holiday.  They will be open 10:30 am-6:00 pm July 4.  FunandFrugal.com will now be keeping you informed of all the events happening at the Cleveland Chick-fil-A, so stay tuned!  Thank you to the Cleveland Chick-fil-A for partnering with FunandFrugal.com.  Please be sure to show your support to them!

Where to see Fireworks

Posted on 02 July 2009   Print Print

<br />

J103 has a big list of where you can see fireworks this weekend here.  I got an email from the Hunter Museum of Art that the Pops on the River Terrace has been canceled due to low participation.  It was scheduled for 7-10 pm on Sat. July 4.  Refunds will be issued for those who have purchased tickets.  Call 267.0968 for more info.

There are no fireworks displays on the J103 list in Cleveland.  I know the Freedom Celebration was last weekend.  Does anyone know of any fireworks displays happening in Cleveland this weekend?  Email me at gloria {at} gmail {dot} com please.  Thanks!

Weekend Closeout Sale on School Fundraiser Items

Posted on 02 July 2009   Print Print

Thanks, Sally, for the email to let me know about the annual 4th of July weekend sale in Cleveland for overstocked school fundraiser items.  Sally is a former teacher and has been going to this sale for years.  She said they have stuff like wrapping paper, candles, mugs, and sometimes frozen cookie dough–stuff school kids sale in fundraiser catalogs–all at greatly reduced price.  The sale is at a warehouse in Cleveland on Georgetown Rd past Mt Zion Church.  You should see signs from Hopewell School directing you there, about 2-3 miles past Hopewell School.  The sale began today and will also open at 9 am tomorrow, Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5.  Closed Sat. July 4.
