2010 TN Sales Tax Holiday Aug 6-8

Posted on 28 July 2010   Print Print

Good news for those who shop in Tennessee!  The state of Tennessee is having another sales tax holiday very soon – August 6-8, 2010.  The purpose is to allow you to purchase school supplies and school clothes tax-free.  Please be sure to read all the rules and restrictions on their website at tntaxholiday.com before you shop.  Click here for a direct link to the alphabetical list of items that are exempt from tax and that are still taxable during Aug. 6-8.  You may be surprised that diapers are tax-free!

Bad news for those who shop in Georgia.  The Georgia General Assembly did not renew legislation allowing for any sales tax holidays in 2010.  Hopefully a lot of you can drive to your neighbor-state, Tennessee and get the sales tax break Aug. 6-8, 2010.

If you live outside of Tennessee or Georgia, click here for a complete listing of all states that are participating in a sales tax holiday and when.

Posted on 27 July 2010   Print Print

WCLE Mix 104.1 is partnering with the Salvation Army and asking Clevelanders to purchase and donate fans for those in need in Bradley County who do not have air conditioning and need fans.  There are many local businesses that are collecting these “Fans for Friends.”  One of the drop-off centers is Cupcake Divas on 25th Street and they will give a free cupcake to anyone who donates a fan there.  For a complete list of drop off locations in Cleveland, click here.  Join me in helping those in need in our community.
